Testimonials
“The lodge space and the bermhouse were loved by all. We had the fire in the lodge and the sauna stoked constantly, and it kept us all beyond cozy. Folks raved about the comfortability of the beds, and those camping out in the field were so pleased to wake up to the epic landscape each morning. The night before everyone left, they begged us to have another retreat here and we couldn’t imagine NOT taking advantage of this remarkable, affordable space in the future- hopefully that is sooner than later!
After speaking with Andrew about the prospective direction of the property under this new ownership, I am very excited to see what they do with this stunning land. It seems like Skalitude is in very good hands.”

“I’ve stayed in many vacation rentals and this was one of my favorites! The setting is magnificent, with a mix of open meadow/grassland and forested hills that seem to envelop you and go on forever. The lodge is comfortable, clean, light, airy and sunny, and decorated with a handmade-artistic style that feels very appropriate to the wild landscape. My husband and I stayed there for 4 nights, and felt we would have enjoyed a much longer stay. The owners have clearly put a lot of care and effort into this place, and it is truly somewhere to relax and reconnect with nature. The property sits at the edge of National Forest land and wilderness areas that are gorgeous and offer tons of backroads and trails to explore.”

“We loved staying at Skaltitude. Couldn’t ask for a more beautiful setting. We loved the privacy, the quiet and the slow pace, and our dog enjoyed the endless opportunities to play . .ALL day long. The cabin was rustic, cozy and comfortable. And the wood-fired sauna was fantastic! The entire space definitely grew on us each day and we were very sad to leave.”

“This place is a fantastic way to get away from it all! You walk out the door and go skiing, or snowshoeing or saunaing… It’s great. The central fireplace adds a homey and warm feel. We have been with friends for the past 2 years and have always had a great time.”

“We’ve stayed at Skalitude, winter, spring and summer seasons, a few times over the past couple years. An absolutely lovely setting for those of all ages, and dogs too! The cabin comfortably accommodates 2-3 families (depending on the number of children), and group dinners around the dining table make memories. PLUS, the berm house is a really cool, private place to stay for anyone looking for an even quieter place to rest one’s head, and an exceptional educational experience in how we can all be better stewards of our land. Great sledding and skiing in winter, and in the spring and summer, Lookout mountain is a wonderful hike, right out your backdoor! Making snowpeople and jumping into the sauna in winter is fun too; just be very careful to heed the stove carefully. Skalitude is magical for all!”

“We brought six women up here to use Skalitude as a base for a vision quest. It is a place of stunning natural beauty and the sensitivity that the owners bring to its management is in perfect keeping with the solitude and quiet of the valley and mountains.”
– Ann, Whidbey
“Three sisters, one sister-in-law and one lone husband spent five glorious days at Skalitude. Wide open spaces, blue skies, fresh snow and superb lodging made for a better trip than we could hope for! Rush hour at Skalitude = x-county skiier, four deer, two dogs, a bald eagle and a wild turkey. Thank you for being such wonderful hosts and entrusting your little piece of utopia to us! (our dogs thank you too!) Your hospitality and stewardship has made this a truly unique and memorable trip.”

Weddings
“My husband and I recently got married at Skalitude, and everything about our event was simply perfect. Skalitude itself and the surrounding area are absolutely gorgeous, the facilities are comfortable and tasteful, and Lindsey and Will were a huge help. They made excellent recommendations, and coordinated with our caterer and local rental providers to take care of everything from tables and chairs to flatware and many other needs. Their relaxed and competent approach helped us get everything organized without a lot of stress, and left us free to enjoy our time with friends and family. Although there are many options of places to get married in the Methow, we appreciated that Skalitude does not only cater to weddings, thus making it more unique and less expensive, and it still had all the accommodations we needed. Our event felt special and personal, and all of our guests were amazed at the beauty of the setting. Skalitude is great for a range of occasions, big or small. We can’t wait to go back again! Two thumbs up, five stars, perfect!”

“When we first met Lindsey and visited Skalitude, the beauty of the land and energy of the place was wholly captivating. We knew right away that it was exactly the type of place we wanted to hold our marriage celebration. Working with Lindsey in preparation for our three-day wedding weekend was just great–she was incredibly responsive and helpful with thinking through logistics and helping to make the experience memorable for us and all of our guests. When the wedding day finally arrived, it was truly an event that exceed all of our expectations. Holding our ceremony in the meadow under an endless blue sky, dining in open air under the sky lodge, and dancing the night away under the milky way–it was truly the most magical place to celebrate our union. We are still getting rave reviews of the event and location from all of our friends and family. Thank you Skalitude and Lindsey, we wish we could do it all over again!”
